If you hear the sound of hammering, it may be from the sukkahs that are being built all over town at synagogues and homes in preparation for the upcoming observation of Sukkot, which this year runs from the evening of Oct. 4 to the evening of Oct. 11.
While synagogues across the area are holding Sukkot services and outdoor dinners in their sukkahs, listed here is a selection of Sukkot celebrations and events in and around the Baltimore-metro area.
