Phil Jacobs has been a part of the JT editorial team for more than 30 years. He has won numerous awards for his work from the both the American Jewish Press Association and the Maryland D.C. Delaware Press Association. Phil volunteers with Jewish Big Brothers and Big Sisters League, is a member of the board of Northwest Hospital. He belongs to Congregation Tiferes Yisroel. Phil attended Northwestern High School and received his journalism degree from the University of Maryland. Phil is married to Lisa and has two children, DeDe Jacobs Komisar and Emily Tova Jacobs, and one grandson, Shalom Chanania Tuvia. He is a former amateur ice hockey player and a “Civil War” nut.
