Guest lecturer Rabbi Moshe Pitchon will discuss “Should Israel Extend its Hands to its Enemies? What Doctors in Northern Israel Face Daily” on Saturday, July 15 at 11:30 a.m. following Shabbat morning services at Chevrei Tzedek Congregation. Rabbi Pitchon volunteers for Ziv Medical Center in Safed, Israel. The Hospital treats the populations of Northern Israel: Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druze, Bedouins, IDF and UN soldiers. Besides these populations, the Hospital has treated over 800 Syrians, victims of the war raging in Syria. These victims receive medical treatment free of charge.
“I see men, women, and children who viewed us as enemies when they arrived here,” says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” They now understand that Israel is a ray of light in this region.”
How victims enter and depart Israel, what happens once they are on Israeli soil, their interactions with the Israeli medical staff, will be the subject of the Rabbi’s talk.
