Village At Home, a Baltimore-based aging-in-place support organization, will host a webcast featuring the best-selling author of Being Mortal and celebrated endocrine surgeon, Atul Gawande. The hour-long live webcast will focus on the importance of community as we age and how a support network can make aging easier, more independent and fulfilling. Shown on a large HD-monitor, the event is being shown to audiences across the world. The evening will begin at 4:30 pm with a quick introduction about Atul Gawande’s background, followed by the live webcast from Boston, starting promptly at 5 pm. At 6 pm, there will be a Q&A session to discuss the webcast and how Village At Home supports his commentary. Appetizers and drinks will follow and guests can mingle and speak with Village At Home members, vendors and volunteers.Now in its 15th year, Village At Home provides in-home and outside support for the older adults and persons with disabilities, allowing them to stay in their homes and live gratifying and more independent lives. Village At Home is part of the national Village movement in states nationwide. While the event is free, you must RSVP to attend.
