Pro Musica Rara, Baltimore’s premier early music ensemble, presents Buried Treasure from Munich and Vienna featuring Christoph Hammer, fortepiano. With Cynthia Roberts, violin, and Allen Whear, cello.
German fortepianist Christoph Hammer, hailed as a “poet of the fortepiano,” recently performed on a piano once belonging to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Salzburg. The concert will feature many works from the eighteenth century never performed before in North America, including Mozart and Hummel, as well as many forgotten composers from Vienna and Bavaria whom Mr. Hammer has made a specialty of discovering and premiering in modern times.
