FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THE HARBOUR SCHOOL AT BALTIMORE MUSEUM DAY
SOLUTIONS IN HUNGER
The Harbour School at Baltimore
Address: 11251 Dolfield Blvd. Owings Mills, Maryland
Date of Event: April 11, 2014 Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
The Harbour School at Baltimore will host its 3rd annual Museum Day on April 11, 2014. The exhibits will demonstrate Solutions in Hunger. See how students have worked collaboratively to develop solutions to real world problems such as world hunger.
Join the Hydroponic Revolution! Follow the assembly of the garden, the calculation of nutrients and the plotting of growth and final harvest of the crops.
Play games demonstrating food and money quantities needed to stop world hunger. Guess how much food it takes to feed a family.
Experience first hand how you can grow your own food in a limited space or urban garden. Try food that was made with ingredients found right in our backyard…including alternative protein sources like tofu, beans or even bugs!
Make your own sunflower seed butter.
These exhibits and more will be on display. Harbour students will serve as your museum curators and docents. Please take this opportunity to show your audience how local students are applying their knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in a multimedia exhibit for all to enjoy.
The Harbour School at Baltimore is a Non-Public school serving students ages 6-21. Students at the school have been diagnosed as having learning disabilities, high functioning autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, other health impaired (primarily ADHD) and multi-disabled.
