Sarah is the harpist of the Jerusalem Philharmonic; Abraham, her husband, is its almighty conductor. When Hagar, a young Arab horn player from East Jerusalem joins the orchestra, she bonds with Sarah and a unique friendship develops between the two women. Hagar, feeling Sarah’s pain from infertility, offers to have a baby for her with Abraham, rocking relationships among the three. This modern take on the story from the book of Genesis uncovers the metaphoric emotional roots of the ancient conflict between the two peoples living in Jerusalem, portraying a quest for harmony through a dramatic encounter between Western and Eastern music.
All tickets are general admission. Films frequently sell out; advance purchase is recommended.
