Composers include Marcello Zarvos (Brazil), Hollis Taylor (USA/Eastern Europe), Timo Alakotila (Finland), John King (Mississippi Delta/USA), Carlo Mombelli (South Africa), and Rodney Yazzie (Navajo Nation). Audiences will hear aspects of blues, rock, and pop, as well as folk traditions from around the world. Learn how classical composers throughout history have integrated aspects of folk and popular music and how this process of stylistic integration continues in today’s music.
