Looking to buy a home in the city? Live Baltimore’s Buying Into Baltimore event returns on May 13 as a one-stop shop with expert advice for anyone at any stage in the homebuying process.
In addition to becoming eligible for $5,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance from Baltimore City Housing, attendees will take a narrated “trolley tour” of neighborhoods and access tips from experts on buying a home in Baltimore City.
The housing fair will feature neighborhood associations, lenders, real estate agents, insurance and moving companies, and other experts to help visitors find the right neighborhood and make the most of incentive programs like Healthy Neighborhoods, the Maryland Mortgage Program, and others.
Visitors will have the opportunity to dig deeper into details at 16 workshops throughout the day covering topics like Home Inspections 101, Preparing Your Credit for Homebuying, and Baltimore City Homebuying Incentives.
The event starts at the Poly, but will expand to Baltimore neighborhoods across the city such as Homeland, Belvedere, Hillen, and Original Northwood. A Live Baltimore expert will narrate the 90-minute tour, stopping at multiple open houses and sharing neighborhood details to give homebuyers a look at the variety of living options in Baltimore City.
Admission to Buying into Baltimore is $10 with online registration at LiveBaltimore.com and $15 at the door. More information on how to become eligible for the $5,000 down payment incentive can be found here: http://livebaltimore.com/financial-incentives/details/buying-into-baltimore/#.V7XHzDmAOkp
