Joshua is studying for a Bachelor of Talmudic Law degree from Ner Israel Rabbinical College and intends to study business in graduate school.

Arielle is the granddaughter of Carole and Ronald Fradkin, Lenora Rosenberg and S. Richard Zuckerman. Joshua is the grandson of Cecilia and Joseph Jassinowsky and Hadassah Poliakoff and Rabbi Manuel Poliakoff, zt”l.

He is also named for his paternal great-grandfather, Jerome Walters, and great-aunt, Beatrice Reichlyn.

Rachel received a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies, Spanish and business. She is employed as a real estate manager for Tesla Motors in
Palo Alto, Calif. Benjamin received a Bachelor of Science degree in multi-media design and development and is employed as an iOS applications engineer for Apple in Cupertino, Calif.

Rachel is the granddaughter of Dr. Stuart Brown and Elaine Betcher and the late Abe and Simone Goldstein. Benjamin is the grandson of the late Leon and Bernice Kuryk and Philip and Bernice Lehman.

Rachel is a 7th grader in the Highly Gifted Center Program (Humanities) at Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown.

Arlene Cohen Scherr of Owings Mills are delighted to announce the engagement of their son, Michael Jason Scherr, to Stephanie Lynn Maus-Sandness, daughter of Patricia Maus and Lynn Sandness of Duluth, Minn.

Michael graduated from the University of Missouri School of the Mines with a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering and completed his M.B.A. at Penn State University. Michael is a Motorola-certified six-sigma black belt. He is employed by Cliffs Natural Resources, a Fortune 500 company, and works at the United Taconite facility as the section manager of Mine Technical Services.

Stephanie attended Lake Superior College while working as an assistant store manager at Old Navy. Stephanie is employed by the University of Minnesota, Duluth, as principal office and administrative specialist in the Kathryn A. Martin Library.

Michael is the grandson of the late Hilda and Michael J. Margolis and the late Ida and Morton Scherr. Stephanie is the granddaughter of Eva and Charles Hreha and the late Norman and Sparling Sandness.

An August 2014 wedding in Duluth, Minn., is planned.

Lauren has a master’s degree in education from Towson University. She is a real estate agent with RE/MAX. Matthew has a master’s degree in health-care management from the University of Maryland. He is a health-care consultant for Signature Consulting Group.
