Annual Tradition

FutureCare Cherrywood hosted its annual Passover seder luncheon on April 14 for more than 75 residents and  family members. The seder was led by Rabbi Moshe Shualy (left),  pictured with Cherrywood’s new administrator, Dovid Insel.

JCC trainers practice what they preach! Blake Piesto (left) won third place in the Maryland State Powerlifting Competition, setting a personal record with a 220-pound bench press. Yaakov Bar Am snatched third place at the NPC Philadelphia Body Building Championships in the 40-plus Masters Physique Division.

Harel and Randi Turkel, along with their two  children, enjoyed a  behind-the-scenes tour of Oriole Park at  Camden Yards as part of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore’s IMPACT and PJ Library event.  The family made  matzoh-themed pillows following the tour. (Photo provided)

To commemorate Passover, Krieger Schechter second-grade students imagined what it would have been like for the Israelites rushing to make their matzoh before beginning their journey out from Egypt. The  students shaped their own matzoh dough  without the luxury of rolling pins and baked  it on an open fire. (Photo provided)

Baltimore Hebrew  Congregation  Brotherhood volunteers (from left)  Diane  Bravmann, Sydney  Johnson, Sidney  Bravmann, Jessica Harris, Bruce Harris, Ben Dubin and Elliot Rosen served breakfast at Manna House on Sunday, March 27. Manna House offers assistance and support to the homeless and needy in Baltimore, which  include services that  contribute toward their independence.

  On March 12, Congregation B’nai Tzedek of Potomac, Md., held a party for its Baltimore congregants at the home of Mark and Robyn (Brown) Futrovky. Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt and approximately 25 Baltimore natives and their spouses participated. The Oriole Bird even made a surprise appearance to the delight of the guests.
