During the past year or so, Amanda Bynes’ bizarre behavior has made her a fixture in the tabloids and celebrity blogs. Hopefully she soon will be in the news for a different reason: her new clothing line. In 2010, Bynes’ tweeted that she was retiring from acting. Bynes moved from Los Angeles to New York, where her behavior started getting more and more bizarre. However, Bynes denies any trouble and told People that she was doing “great” and working on a clothing line. It looks like that is actually happening. Bynes told In Touch magazine that her clothing line will be a mixture of “sick” styles, and it’s going to be for everyone.

“How I Met Your Mother” actor — and director Judd Apatow favorite — Jason Segel will be writing a series of middle-grade children’s books, Random House announced in April. The first book — “Nightmares!” — will be co-written by Kristen Miller, the author of the best-selling series “The Eternal Ones.” The stories will be about a group of kids who try to save their neighborhood from fear, which has manifested itself in the form of nightmare creatures that have entered their everyday world. It sounds dark for a book that is meant for children, but with the popularity of “The Hunger Games” this may be the direction in which some new books are heading.
Glee stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith have reunited after Monteith completed a one-month stint in rehab for substance addiction. Monteith has opened up in the past about drug abuse during his late teens and early 20s. Although Monteith relapsed, he was able to keep it out of the spotlight and checked himself into rehab, media reports say. At the time, Michele made a public statement: “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am proud and grateful he made this decision.”

A second inquest into the death of Jewish musician Amy Winehouse confirmed that the 27-year-old English star died of accidental alcohol poisoning. Coroner Shirley Radcliffe said the celebrity’s tragic end occurred from “alcohol toxicity” and was a “death by misadventure,” confirming the initial reports from October 2011 of a first coroner, who was later found to be unreliable. Radcliffe confirmed the death was accidental and that there were no suspicious circumstances.
Radcliffe said a post-mortem examination on Winehouse found her blood alcohol level to be five times the amount permitted to legally drive — a level that proved to be fatal because a person could “fall asleep and not wake up.”
Jeremy Piven stopped by “The Jonathan Ross Show” on Sunday to promote his new ITV series “Mr. Selfridge,” and almost immediately the host of the British talk show asked about his religion. Piven identified himself as “Jew-ish,” not too “hardcore, don’t wear peyos and don’t daven.” He also admitted that he was a “terrible bar mitzvah boy” but said he found a unique way to study for the big day.
“It was hard for me to learn Hebrew,” Piven said. “I actually had to rap my haftarah portion,” and he immediately broke into a live rapping of the portion, much to the enthusiasm of Ross, who suggested that Piven should use his rapping powers to prepare other young Jewish boys for their bar mitzvahs.
