Judaism’s Great Debates: Timeless Controversies from Abraham to Herzl

We will learn about the debates between Hillel and Shamal, the Vilna Gaon and the Baal Shem Tov over spirituality, and Spinoza and the Amsterdam Rabbis over Jewish boundaries. This course is taught by Rabbi David Greenspoon, a popular Jewish educator for learners across the generational spectrum. Rabbi Greenspoon teaches Jewish Text, Thought, and Practice at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville.

Pumpkin Theatre presents ‘The Princess & The Pea’

(BALTIMORE) Pumpkin Theatre continues our 46th Season “Discovering New Friendships Through Familiar Tales” with The Princess & The Pea. A mysterious young woman must prove to a skeptical King and Queen that she is a princess of royal blood. She must pass three tests involving ghosts, gold and, of course, a pea. Will the evil court attendant foil her plans to marry the Prince? Or will Prince Erik’s magic troll have the last laugh and set things right? Performances take place on December 14, 15, 21 and 22. All shows are at 1 and 3pm and take place at 2905 Walnut Ave, Owings Mills 21117. We still have our affordable 4 and 3 play subscription packages available. See a show and take home a memory! During our Mainstage shows we offer a special Arts and Crafts room. Join our specialists as we make an exciting craft, based off the show you will be attending! This special room will be available during the afternoon of your show, 12-4. Come before or after your performance, or both! Not only will your child will explore their creative side, but they will be able to take home a special project that will remind them of their wonderful Pumpkin experience. Cost is $5 and can be paid by cash or check the day of the performance.

Celebrate your Birthday at Pumpkin! Offered during our Mainstage performances only, this is a party your child will remember for years to come. Bring your group of 10 or more, to receive our group rate and sit in your own special seats!  All birthday children are brought on stage, where we sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to them and they receive a special party hat. For an hour before the performance you may also rent out one of our party rooms. Looking for something else to make your party one-of-a-kind? Book a Pumpkin Party Pal! A themed character of your choice (played by a professional Pumpkin actor) will visit your party room for 45 minutes. Your princess or pirate will assist your party by playing games, leading a themed craft, and if needed help out with food/cake. Party Rooms and Pumpkin Party Pals can only be booked by calling 410 902-1814.

The Princess & The Pea  is directed by B Thomas Rinaldi, with costumes by Wil Crowther, lighting by Adrienne Gieszl, props by Ally Cribbs and set by Ryan Haase, featuring actors Derek Cooper, Holly Gibbs, Ed Higgins, Vanessa Kinsey, Kay Meghan, and John Sadowsky.
