Chanukah Zimriyah – A community sing-along

PJ Library® at the Jewish Federation of Howard County presents a Chanukah Zimriyah: a community sing-along, on Sunday, November 24, 2013.  The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at the Temple Isaiah, 12200 Scaggsville Road, Fulton, MD from 4:00-5:30 p.m.

The songs will be led and taught by Howard County community cantors.  Song lyrics will be projected on a screen so everyone can sing along and participate.  A PJ Library Chanukah story will be read and cookies and refreshments will be served.  Dietary laws will be observed. Bring a new pair of pajamas to donate to a child in need.

PJ Library, which is funded by The Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the Jewish Federation of Howard County and other generous donors, is free for any parent raising a child to be Jewish. The materials, 11 books and one CD per year, are made for kids between the ages of 6 months and 6 years.

The sing-along was created last year. According to the Zimriyah’s sponsors Ed and Arlene Gillis, “Along with Pearl Laufer, we wished for an event to bring the whole Howard County Jewish community together. It’s the perfect way for Jews of all ages and affiliations to come together and share music, friendship, and fun.”
