Touring Israeli Art Collection Comes to Baltimore
Har Sinai Congregation will exhibit an art collection arranged by Jerusalem’s Safrai Fine Art Gallery. The touring art show, presented for the first time in Baltimore, features more than 1,500 pieces of art by more than 100 established and new Israeli artists.

The show is open and free to the public on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Har Sinai Congregation is located at 2905 Walnut Ave. in Owings Mills, Md.

“This is a rare opportunity for the people of Baltimore to admire art from a world-renowned gallery while supporting both famous and new Israeli artists. I’ve seen some of the pieces, and they’re stunning,” Rabbi Benjamin Sharff said.

The Safrai Fine Art Gallery, established in 1935 before Israel became a state, features artists in a variety of media, including oils, watercolors, lithographs, serigraphs, etchings and woodcuts. The collection represents the creative expression of Israeli artists, many who trained in art centers around the world.

In addition to public hours, Har Sinai Congregation will hold a “Night at the Museum” event Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 to 11 p.m. featuring the art show, sale and tours, live auction, candlelight havdalah and music. Classic Catering will sponsor the evening with a reception featuring dessert, cheese and fruit. The evening costs $18 per person. RSVP to Susan Bernstein at sbernstein@harsinai-md.org or 410-654-9393.

As part of the art show, the Safrai Fine Art Gallery will sell framed pieces for $75 to $5,000 with the average cost ranging from $175 to $500. For more information, contact Har Sinai Congregation at 410-654-9393.
