Baltimore Clayworks 2013 Clay Ball

Saturday, September 28, 2013
6:00–11:00PM

Baltimore Clayworks will celebrate 33 years as one of Maryland’s leading non-profit arts organizations and nationally recognized ceramic art centers this fall. The annual gala will take place Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 6:00-11PM at the B&O Railroad Museum.

At this year’s gala we will honor Fred Lazarus, president of the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and all he has done to support Baltimore’s rising art scene. The theme of the event Art in Your Space will highlight how ceramic art objects become part of your life. Like Baltimore’s vibrant art community that is visible throughout the city in murals, theatres, galleries, art festivals and more, ceramic objects are visible in our everyday lives through the mugs we drink from, plates we eat off and the artwork that surrounds us.

The live and silent auctions will showcase one-of-a kind art pieces and experiences such as trips, specialty parties and our popular Year of Dining raffle. The art ranges from one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces made by artists from across the country, to artfully hand-designed jewelry, framed photographs and specialty textiles.

All proceeds from this event will help provide core funding for the educational, artistic and collaborative programs at Baltimore Clayworks. Clayworks serves over 15,000 residents and visitors to Baltimore during the year through attendance at shows and exhibitions, students in classes and participants of our community arts programs. The  Clay Ball raises over $100,000 in operating support from ticket sales, sponsorships and proceeds from the auction.

Ticket prices are $185 per person.
