Premiere Screening of “The Monuments Men” to benefit the Myerberg Center

Movie lovers and history buffs are invited to the Baltimore premiere of “The Monuments Men” at the newly renovated and reopened Pikes Theatre. This Baltimore showing is a fundraising event to benefit the Edward A. Myerberg Center, which provides educational and recreational programming and social services for older adults. The film opens to the general public later in the day on February 7.
“The Monuments Men,” based on the book by Robert M. Edsel and directed by George Clooney, follows an unlikely World War II platoon tasked with rescuing art masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. The star-studded cast includes Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and John Goodman.

Myerberg Center provides over 150 enriching programs each year for 1,200 adults ages 55 and over, including classes in painting, sculpture, current events, technology and fitness. Follow the musical adventure of Horton, an elephant who one day hears voices coming from a speck of dust and spends the rest of his days protecting his new friends from WhoVille. The Cat in the Hat, Mayzie, Getrude McFuzz , The Wickersham Brothers, Jo Jo and more all join in on this mash up of Dr Suess’ favorite tales.
