Toby Lightman w/Dou Wamble

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Toby Lightman will perform on Saturday night, November 2, 2013 at Eutaw Place. Brooklyn singer/songwriter Doug Wamble opens at 8 pm.

Lightman’s first album Little Things was released in 2004 on Lava/Atlantic, featuring the hit single Devils and Angels, which enjoyed considerable airplay in the summer of 2004. During her career, she has toured and performed with bands such as OAR, Rob Thomas, Jewel, Gavin DeGraw, Train and Prince. Since becoming an independent artist, her music has been featured on national TV and she has appeared on Letterman, Conan, GMA, and the CBS Morning Show. Lightman’s first two records, Little Things (2004) and Bird on a Wire (2006) were produced on Atlantic Records, followed by two independent albums, Let Go (2008) and Know Where I’m From (2010). Her new EP, Holding a Heart, has just been released.

A native of Memphis, Doug Wamble lives in New York where he has performed and recorded with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Cassandra Wilson, Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant, Branford Marsalis, Bill Frisell and Charlie Hunter and Epic recording artist Morgan James. He has composed and performed original works for the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Chamber Music America, and film soundtracks for acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns including “The Tenth Inning”, “Prohibition” and “The Central Park Five.”
Doug has released four solo albums, “Country Libations” and “Bluestate” on Marsalis Music/Universal Records, and “Doug Wamble” on E1/Koch Records. His first independent release, “Fast As Years, Slow As Days” came out in 2013 on his own Halcyonic Records imprint. His first all instrumental solo guitar record, “Rednectelectual” is due later this year. He returns to Eutaw Place solo after supporting Jonah Smith in 2011.

At Eutaw Place, patrons can enjoy beer and wine supplied by Vineyards Elite, coffee by Baltimore’s High Grounds Coffee Roasters, and home baked cookies and other snacks.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance online or at the door.

Located in the lower level of the historic Beth Am Synagogue in Baltimore’s Reservoir Hill neighborhood, Eutaw Place brings to Baltimore musicians at an affordable ticket price, in a comfortable atmosphere. Eutaw Place is located at 2501 Eutaw Place. There is free parking in the lot behind the Esplanade Apartments off of Eutaw Place. Additional information can be found at eutawplace.org.

A Cappella Concert featuring Rak Shalom, Kol Sasson and Mezumenet

Come join Maryland Hillel for an A Cappella Extravaganza! UMD’s premiere Jewish a cappella groups, Rak Shalom, Kol Sasson, and Mezumenet, will be performing along with guest groups. All donated items should be new and unwrapped. Gift cards with values of $10 or less (such as Target, Walmart and Toys R Us) are also welcome.

Drop Off Day is Sunday November 3 at our Baltimore County office. Donations are also being accepted through December 6 during regular business hours at either JCS office location:
