Solar Plasma Fest

Celebrate the Sun and the Van Allen Probes mission exploring Earth’s radiation belts to help us better understand the Sun-Earth connection.

Plasma is all the rage and scientists from the John’s Hopkins Applied Physics Lab will be on hand to help explore how the Sun and plasma influence the planet and our day-to-day life.

MSC’s Solar Plasma Fest is made possible through generous support from The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Summer Fun Day

July 6th (Sunday)- Summer Fun Day w/Lawnmower Races & Classy Car & Cycle Show with Antique Tractors- 11am to 4pm, Admission $10.00 for adults, children 12 & under and members free

This event will feature all things wheels! Enjoy a great family fun day with music; lawnmower racing; a car and motorcycle show; ice cream eating contest; face painting; kids crafts and games; food; and museum displays.  Fun for the whole family!

Collectors/ Restorers- plan to bring your classy car or cycle or antique tractor for the show!

Kids- Bring your bike or skates for the bike parade, come decorated or visit our decorating station to get ready for the parade!

Dance to the Oldies or enjoy an old fashioned soda at “The Hop” soda fountain!

Contested Divisions, Mixed Media Exhibition at NDMU’s Gormley Gallery

Notre Dame of Maryland University’s Gormley Gallery presents Contested Divisions, an exhibition of images made from the materials of photography and that employ mixed media to explore the medium’s indexical mode.

Contested Divisions, part of the Artscape Gallery Network, features the work of artists Elizabeth Crisman, Amy Finkelstein, Todd Forsgren, Muriel Hasbun, Kyle Tata, and Ding Ren, and is curated by Geoff Delanoy.

A reception will be held on Friday, July 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Artscape Gallery Network connects more than 20 Baltimore galleries to a wider audience through a promotional campaign sponsored by M&T Bank and provides art lovers with an extended opportunity to enjoy Baltimore’s talented artists before, during and after the festival weekend.
