Twilight Garden Party: Women’s Housing Coalition’s Annual Fundraising Event

The Women’s Housing Coalition celebrates its annual fundraising event, the Twilight Garden Party, in the beautiful Atrium at the Marbury Building. Guests will enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, live music, beer, wine and a signature cocktail while hearing firsthand how lives are being changed and experiencing a community committed to a better Baltimore by working with women and families.

Hundreds of supporters will honor the women and families of The Women’s Housing Coalition and its work to help over 150 formerly homeless women and children each year gain stability and make progress toward productive and inspiring lives. By providing affordable housing and supportive services, including job readiness training, intensive case management and financial literacy, the Women’s Housing Coalition enables residents to sustain social and financial independence.

The Baltimore African Violet & Gesneriad Club’s 59th Annual Show & Sale

The Baltimore African Violet & Gesneriad Club will hold their 59th Annual Mother’s Day Show & Sale at The Shops at Kenilworth, 800 Kenilworth Drive, Towson MD on May 9 and 10, 2014. Hours are Friday, May 9- Sales 9AM-7PM  Show 1pm-7pm and Saturday, May 10- Show & Sale 9AM-5PM. Our show will feature many unbelievable and unusual plants. The sales tables will hold hundreds of beautiful African violet, gesneriads, and other exotic houseplants. Also available will be leaves, cuttings, and many growing supplies including soil mix, plant rings, self-watering pots and much more. Experienced growers will be there to answer your growing questions. This event is free to the public and is handicap accessible.

Farmer’s Market

OWINGS MILLS, MD (May 8, 2014) – More than 40 different vendors will be selling locally-grown fruits, vegetables, dairy products, flowers and other food items at the Metro Centre at Owings Mills Farmer’s Market, which will be held each Friday. The market will be located in the outdoor Plaza area of Metro Centre at Owings Mills, adjacent to the County Campus building which houses a branch of the Baltimore County Library and the Community College of Baltimore. The Farmer’s Market will be managed by Darla Cornett, a Franklin High School graduate now living in Annapolis who also founded Nonis Sauces.
