Y OF CENTRAL MARYLAND HEALTHY KIDS DAY 2014

(BALTIMORE)— The Y of Central Maryland will celebrate youth health with Healthy Kids Day 2014 on Saturday, April 26 at Family Center Ys. Families and friends will enjoy a day of fun-filled activities that promote healthy living and activity. The event will include family fitness activities, healthy treats, face painting, a moon bounce and more! This FREE event is open to all community members. Specific times and activities vary by location, so please contact your local Family Center Y for additional information.

“Friends” The League’s Annual Awards and Advocacy Dinner

The League for People with Disabilities will host its Annual Awards and Advocacy Dinner, “Friends,” to recognize and honor the contributions of local individuals and business owners who, through their volunteerism and philanthropy, positively impact the community of people with disabilities, on Saturday, April 26, from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, at Preston Hall – 25 West Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. This year’s honorees include Tom and Kitty Stoner and the TKF Foundation, Gordon Feinblatt LLC & Friends of The League. Aniello Desiderio – Baltimore premiere of the Italian guitar sensation

“Nothing is impossible for Aniello Desiderio with his instrument.“ Classical Guitar Magazine

Born in Naples in 1971, Aniello Desiderio at the age of eight, he performed in public for the first time, displaying such outstanding gifts that music critics started to speak of him as an “enfant prodige”… Wunderkind…a genius,….the  Orpheus of the Guitar….a guitarist of the Century…il Fenomeno…. etc.

He won 18 first International Awards in both national and international competitions, and special prizes for the best interpretation of different kind of music, including: Guerrero (Madrid) Tarrega (Benicasim) Havana (Cuba)
He performed all around world: Europe, Asia, North & South America, USA, Indonesia, for the most International Guitar and Music Festival and in some of the most prestigious theatre such as: Alte Oper (Frankfurt) Tonhalle (Dusseldorf) Filarmonie (Munich) Konzerthouse (Wien) Augusteo & Delle Palme (Naples) Carnegie Hall (New York) Megaron (Athens) Prinzregentertheater (Munich) Die Gloke (Bremen) Mercadante (Naples) Radio France (Paris) solo and with orchestra as: Wiener Kammer, RSO Berlin, Pomeriggi Musicali, Bach Collegium, Virtuosi di Mosca with Vladmir Spivakov.
In May 1999 the German Television BR/ARD produced a music film (45 min.) and a portrait (45 min.) in Naples. It was broadcast more than 10 times Europe wide between 2000-03.

In September 1999 he received the „Artist in Residence Award 1999“ from the German Radio DLF and the Musikfest Bremen together with Gidon Kremer, who received the “Großer Musikfest Preis” He was invited to the 70th birthday Gala of Maestro Lorin Maazel by the Bavarian Radio & TV station and he was one of the performing artists of a prestigious German TV show – ZDF (German 2nd canal) which was broadcast Europe wide.

In fall 2009 he has create his last project: Aniello Desiderio’s “Quartetto Furioso” play with Gennaro Desiderio violin, Gaetano Desiderio piano and Salvatore Minale drums and percussion the programme of: Vivaldi 4 and 4 Piazzolla Seasons and he realize the cd of this project for the famous german lable TERMIDOR  which has as well artist as Paquito D’ Rivera and Sabine Mayer.

He’s a professor at University of Music in Cosenza (Italy)
