CERT presents citizens the facts about how to prepare for and what to expect
following a major disaster (i.e. storms, hurricanes, power outages, etc.) in terms of immediate services. CERT team members are trained in life-saving skills with the emphasis on decision-making skills, disaster preparedness, rescuer safety and missing persons search. CERT acts as
an extension of first-responder services offering immediate help to victims until professional services arrive.
