The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore is expanding relief efforts in light of the string of natural disasters and catastrophes around the globe, including Hurricane Harvey in Texas, Hurricane Irma in Florida, Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the Mexico earthquake.
The charitable organization is opening emergency funds for Puerto Rico and Mexico, while continuing relief efforts for Texas and Florida, working with its national and international partners and relief workers on the ground to help affected communities and individuals.
The organization said that 100 percent of contributions designated by donors as disaster relief funds will go directly to victim assistance. Donors may designate a specific campaign or donate to the newly created Emergency Relief Fund for 2017 Natural Disasters, where the money is to be divided among affected communities.
“We are committed to helping those devastated by the recent catastrophes receive the resources they need to survive and rebuild,” an organization statement said. “Your support will address shortages, including food, water and medical supplies, while providing critical resources to assist in long-term rebuilding efforts.”
