‘Joyous’ Story, But …

I loved the JT’s joyous March 3 cover story (“Hamantaschen Time”) featuring hamantashen around town and critiquing those of various bakeries.

I myself pioneered homemade chocolate fillings for my family long before they did, though, and was happy when they caught onto the treats.

It would have been helpful, however, if you had mentioned which bakeries are kosher (Goldman’s, Sion, Pariser’s) and which are not (Lenny’s and Gourmet Again); and also, which — “buttery” flavor notwithstanding — are pareve (same three above).

As to packaged hamantaschen, Lily’s of Brooklyn makes delicious kosher ones that are individually wrapped and available at Giant Food.
