MEA Unveils Energy-Efficiency Grant

The Maryland Energy Administration, along with local nonprofit organizations, elected officials and community stakeholders, is celebrating the $998,789 EmPOWER Clean Energy Communities Statewide Competitive Grant to Healthy Neighborhoods, Inc.

The grant to HNI, working in partnership with Baltimore City Energy Office and 11 nonprofit homeless housing and service providers, will facilitate whole-building energy-efficiency audits and energy-efficiency upgrades to 26 facilities in Baltimore City. These facilities house and serve individuals who are homeless, have mental, physical or developmental disabilities, struggle with substance-use disorders or have been diagnosed with HIV and AIDS.
