On Aug. 12, Dr. David Benjamin Snyder of Baltimore at 76. He is survived by son David Benjamin Snyder Jr.; sister Donna Marie (John Francis) Sapp; nieces Brittany (Charlie) Lancaster and Heather Sapp; nephew Johnny Sapp; great-nieces Stella and Wells Lancaster; and former wife Diann Snyder. He was predeceased by brother Barry Snyder and parents Dorothy and Harry Snyder. He served in the U.S. military for 34 years, first in the U.S. Army, obtaining the honor of being a Green Beret medic during the Vietnam era. Then he switched branches and joined the U.S. Public Health Service detailed to the Coast Guard as an oral surgeon and rose through the ranks, reaching the rank of Captain 06 before retirement from the U.S. military. He was also an oral surgeon, dentist and pharmacist, obtaining his degrees from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Dentistry and Oral surgery, and worked at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma for
a while.
