Obstacles To Peace: What Makes It So Difficult To Achieve?

Dr. Robert O. Freedman, visiting professor of political science at Johns Hopkins University, said there are three major obstacles to peace that, despite the euphoria and optimism of American leaders, cannot be overlooked.

>> Full peace cannot be achieved without reconciliation between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas.

>> Construction of Israeli property over the Green Line continues, which causes the Palestinians to lose trust in the process.

>> The security threat is real, as more than 1,500 Israelis have been killed in terrorist attacks since 1993, according to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs
